The New 2022 Jeep Cherokee
While the Jeep brand isn’t known for “huge” changes between generation redesigns of vehicles, the 2022 Jeep Cherokee has some impressive features and options. This model year’s lineup has been “tweaked” quite a bit, offering a bit of new and a bit of old to make something that any Jeep lover will love.
One of the best ways to figure out what 2022 Jeep Cherokee trim level is right for you is to learn about each one and what it offers.
2022 Jeep Cherokee Altitude
The Altitude comes standard with LED exterior lights, air conditioning, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. You also get an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, LED fog lights, and heated outboard mirrors featuring integrated turn signals.
Regarding technology, the Altitude doesn’t disappoint, offering keyless entry and push-button start, a hill-start assist, and a 3.5-inch mono driver information display. You also get the Uconnect 4, 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment center, satellite radio capability, and a six-speaker audio system. Wi-Fi hotspot capability, voice recognition, Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay are standard features for the Altitude trim.
For safety, Jeep has given the Altitude a few helpful features, including lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, rear-park assist, automatic emergency braking, and forward-collision warning.
Several upgrade options include a basic 4WD, a power panoramic sunroof, and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system.
2022 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Lux
If you opt for the Latitude Lux trim option, it adds to what the Altitude has to offer. This includes a 3.2-liter V6 engine, seven-inch information display, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 115-volt power outlet.
Other standard features with this trim level include an eight-way power adjustable passenger seat, a security alarm, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather-trimmed front bucket seats, and a power rear liftgate. The 4WD option for this trim is Active Drive I.
2022 Jeep Cherokee X
The X is the perfect entry-level option if you want the benefits of a 4WD Cherokee but without a huge price tag. However, since the 4WD feature comes standard with the 3.2-liter engine, it is a bit pricier than the FWD Altitude, and Latitude Lux trim options.
The X trim level comes standard with a 3.2-liter V6 and Active Drive I. Besides that one feature, it is equipped with the Altitude trim of the 2022 Jeep Cherokee.
While this is true, there are a few things to note. For example, the X doesn’t have a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, or heated front seats. It also lacks the remote start, windshield wiper deicer, push-button start, keyless entry, and rear-party assist.
Even though you may miss a few of those features, you get AWD and the Selec-Terrain System.
2022 Cherokee Limited
The most luxurious trim of the 2022 Jeep Cherokee is the Limited. This trim option adds to the Limited Lux trim with 18-inch aluminum wheels, high-beam assists, adaptive cruise control, and Selec-Terrain. Memory is offered with the driver’s seat and the outboard mirrors. Other standard features include a nine-speaker Alpine audio system and parallel and perpendicular parking assistance. You also get a power panoramic sunroof as a standard feature.
Since the sunroof and Alpine audio system are standard features, the Limited trim does lose the Sun and Sound Group. While this is true, you can opt for the Elite Package, which comes with a heated second-row seat, hands-free power rear liftgate, navigation, chrome tow hooks, and 19-inch aluminum wheels.
2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk
Jeep is all about off-roading, and if intense off-road adventures are your bread and butter, then the Trailhawk trim is the best option available. This trim comes equipped with Active Drive Lock, which includes a 4-Lo gear and locking rear differential. This helps to ensure the wheels are spinning at the same speed.
The Trailhawk is built off the Latitude Lux. It doesn’t come with leather front bucket seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, or an auto-dimming rearview mirror but provides other features that are more than appealing to most drivers.
To the Latitude Lux trim, the Trailhawk adds 17-inch aluminum wheels, hill-descent control, a fuel tank skid plate, a front skid plate, and cloth and vinyl bucket seats.
You also get a few additional features, including Selec-Terrain, Selec-Speed Control, red tow hooks, a transmission skid plate, a rear bumper skid plate, and off-road suspension.
With this trim, Jeep has also added back some of the lost features with the Technology Group, which is an upgrade. If you opt for this, you get a parking assistance package, high-beam assist, and adaptive cruise control. Another optional upgrade is the Sun, Sound & Nav Group. If you choose this optional feature, you get navigation, a panoramic sunroof, and an Alpine audio system.
